Paid summer work placements giving young Jamaicans their first structured work experience, run during the summer holiday period.

Who can apply

  • Young Jamaicans within the age range set for the current intake
  • Currently enrolled in school or recently graduated
  • Applications open seasonally, ahead of the summer period

What to bring

  • Valid government-issued photo identification
  • Tax Registration Number (TRN)
  • Birth certificate
  • Proof of school enrolment or most recent school leaving documentation
  • Bank account details for payment

How to apply

  • 1Watch for the announcement of the current intake, usually in the second quarter of the year
  • 2Complete the application before the closing date
  • 3Attend any orientation or interview required
  • 4Report to your assigned placement on the start date

Placements are made with government agencies, private companies and community organisations. Beyond the wage, the programme is designed to give participants a work reference and practical experience for future job applications.
