Jamaica Drugs for the Elderly Programme. Subsidised medication for Jamaicans aged 60 and over for a defined list of chronic conditions.

Who can apply

  • Jamaican citizens aged 60 years and over
  • Diagnosed with one or more of the chronic illnesses covered by the programme

What to bring

  • Valid government-issued photo identification showing date of birth
  • Tax Registration Number (TRN)
  • A completed application form signed by your doctor

How to apply

  • 1Ask your doctor to complete and sign the medical section of the application form
  • 2Submit the form to the NHF, a participating pharmacy, or through this office
  • 3Your JADEP card is issued once the application is processed
  • 4Present the card with your prescription at any participating pharmacy

JADEP covers medication for a specific list of chronic conditions affecting older Jamaicans. The list is set by the National Health Fund and is updated from time to time, so confirm current coverage before applying.

JADEP and the NHF Card are separate programmes. Many seniors qualify for both.
